New Angry Bird game to be launched on Monday (expected to be of the Star Wars series)

Flinging birds using catapults has become a favorite hobby for millions across the globe thanks to Rovio’s Angry Birds. In the four years since its launch, the series has branched into several spin offs from Space to Star Wars. Come July 15th, and we might have another of Angry Birds game. In a post Rovio has revealed that Angry Birds fans are in for a surprise this Monday. The Finnish developer also posted the image below. The shadow in the background (which looks like Darth Vader) and the Tatooine like city in the background makes it look like we might have another Angry Birds and Star Wars collaboration. Rovio has hinted at biggest character line up, new powers as well as a few surprises. We hope the game adds in a few new elements to keep the franchise fresh. There’s not much more we could read into Rovio’s post for now, but we’re expecting the game to hit all major mobile platforms including iOS, Android, Windows Phone and Blackberry (that’s just speculation ofcourse), as well as Windows, Mac and social networking platforms. We’ll let you know more once the game gets released on July 15th. It looks like Rovio is all set to extend its collection of Angry Birds franchise, as the makers of the popular game say there is big news coming next week on July 15. Judging by the poster, we are guessing that there could be a sequel to the Angry Birds Star Wars, but there is no official word at the moment. So, stay tuned to our website for more information on what’s coming on July 15. According to a short blog post from Rovio, they have “big news” coming next Monday, July 15. Apparently, the news centers around a brand new game that the publisher is working on, one which has to do with the Angry Birds Star Wars franchise.  Here is exactly what Rovio said on the post: Attention, Angry Birds fans! Stay tuned on Monday, July 15th, for big news about a brand new game! We’re talking the biggest character line-up ever, awesome new powers, and maybe even a few surprises! If you ask me, we could be looking at Rovio starting from Episode 1: Phantom Menace now, as the above bird looks to be dressed as Anakin Skywalker, with his shadow appearing as Darth Vader. You think Rovio will somehow make the Jar Jar Binks character even more hated than he already is? We shall see on Monday! As for the teaser image that the company posted, it looks like the this Star Wars sequel game will be taking on the prequels, as the image reveals a young Anakin Skywalker’s shadow revealing the silhouette of Darth Vader. The first Angry Birds Star Wars game focused on the first three movies in the Star Wars saga, so it would make sense that this “brand new game” focuses on the next three in the series. However, as most of us know, the prequels weren’t really the high point of the Star Wars saga, so here’s hoping that Rovio can make a bearable game that depicts the three prequel films. Then again, Rovio is getting to the point where they need to do some innovation instead of churning out new Angry Birds game every year, or even worse, re-releasing old Angry Birds games. Of course, though, as long as Rovio keeps seeing sales of new Angry Birds title go through the roof, then there’s no reason for them to fix something that isn’t broken, but it’s certainly exhausting to keep seeing new Angry Birds titles show up when I can’t even keep up with the previous installment. This new game comes after the company expanded the license agreement with toymaker Hasbro to ship new toys and games based on the Angry Birds franchise. Additionally, Rovio is planning on releasing a new title named Angry Birds Go later this year based around the racing genre.
